Vuong

Founder & Director

Vuong graduated from RMIT with a Bachelor of Engineering and spent more than a decade in the petrochemical industry across engineering and commercial roles.

He later joined one of Australia’s leading energy retailers, where he managed wholesale gas contracts and carbon reporting obligations for nearly 10 years.

Combining his engineering background, energy sector experience, and passion for building, Vuong went on to qualify as a NatHERS thermal assessor and obtained Design Matters National accreditation.

Outside of work, Vuong is an avid sports enthusiast and a dedicated North Melbourne Kangaroos supporter. He is active in his local community through basketball coaching and Neighbourhood Watch and enjoys cycling and outdoor activities for fitness and fresh air.

Stephen brings a strong foundation in finance and sustainability to his role as Director at V‑Star Energy.

After completing his Business degree in the UK, he began his career in world‑leading investment banks across the UK and Australia before transitioning into the energy sector to pursue his passion for renewable energy and sustainable development.

He went on to lead a successful energy consulting start‑up and later became a HERA‑accredited NatHERS thermal assessor, expanding his expertise into sustainable building design.

At V‑Star Energy, Stephen combines commercial insight with technical capability to support high‑quality, energy‑efficient outcomes for clients. Outside of work, he enjoys keeping fit and playing competition tennis for his local club.

Mike

Thermal Assessor

Mike Bui is a Construction Engineer with several years of experience in ESD consulting, bringing strong technical capability and a growing passion for sustainable design.

Mike joined V‑Star Energy in 2025 and is already demonstrating his strengths across FirstRate5, HERO and Speckel, while continuing to deepen his expertise within the Australian building industry.

He has a particular talent for interpreting and analysing complex architectural drawings, and he is especially interested in houses and blueprints that feature novel or creative design approaches.

V‑Star Energy looks forward to supporting Mike’s development journey and showcasing his talent as he contributes to high‑quality thermal performance outcomes for clients.

With a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Melbourne and more than two decades in FMCG commercial roles, Angela has built a career around understanding people, markets, and what drives performance.

She thrives on partnering with customers to tackle real‑world challenges and create meaningful commercial outcomes.

Now at V‑Star Energy, she’s excited to learn, contribute, and help shape strategies that support sustainable success in the fast‑moving building industry.

Beyond her commercial expertise, she is passionate about high performance and the development of high‑performing teams across both business and sport. Outside of work, Angela spends most of her time parenting and teaching her two children the value of curiosity and kindness.

Mark

Project Manager

Mark holds a Bachelor of Mathematics and Computer Science and brings more than two decades of experience in the automotive industry, where he worked across enterprise software development, IT infrastructure, and data centre management.

During this time, he led a medium‑sized team and developed strong capability in customer and vendor management. He later transitioned into project management, applying his technical expertise and leadership skills across the pharmaceutical sector and small business environments.

Now at V‑Star Energy, Mark is thriving in the opportunity to learn from a diverse team of like‑minded professionals while contributing valuable transferable skills gained throughout his career.

Outside of work, Mark enjoys fine dining and is a passionate follower of all sports, particularly water and motor‑related activities. His current personal goal is to improve his health so he can spend more time outdoors with his family.
