Residential Deemed to Satisfy
When you plan a renovation or an extension to your home in Australia, it will need to meet specific energy efficiency standards under the National Construction Code (NCC).
A NatHERS energy rating is an energy assessment on the whole house. At V-Star Energy, we often recommend the Deemed to Satisfy (DtS) pathway for these types of projects. This is often a more practical approach that can be used to assess the minimum energy efficiency requirements for the specific renovation or extension work ONLY.
Since the DtS method can allow us to focus strictly on the new work (the extension or the renovated area), it makes it much easier for additions to older homes to achieve compliance with the NCC.
Some projects, however, are not eligible for DtS assessments. Contact us to find out which assessment method is suitable for your project.
